The Georgia Scholastic Press Association is delighted to present the winners of the literary magazine and yearbook contests for 2022–23.

Enter the GA Journalist of the Year contests

Each year, GSPA recognizes the top senior and junior student journalists in the state with the Georgia Champion and Junior Journalist of the Year Awards. The winners and runners-up receive cash prizes, and the overall senior winner represents the state in the Journalism Education Association's National Journalist of the Year competition. Deadline: Jan. 21, 2024.

GSPA is now accepting entries for the 2024 First Amendment Essay Competition. As an essential part of our democracy, the press, and education, the First Amendment remains a crucial area of study and review. The contest is free to enter, and it could be a great end-of-the-semester class activity! Deadline: Jan. 31, 2024.

Time to submit entries for spring contests

The 2023-24 Spring General Excellence Competition and Individual Awards contest are now open! Submit your best work from broadcasts, newsmagazines, newspapers and news websites. For details and entry forms, go to www.ugagspa.org/spring-competitions. The deadline for all entries is Feb.15, 2024. Please note this is a firm deadline because the Spring Workshop and Awards is Monday, March 25, 2024.
