Deadline to register for Spring Workshop and Awards approaching

GSPA and its members from across the state will celebrate the best in scholastic journalism at the Spring Workshop and Awards. The event will be held at the University of Georgia’s Center for Continuing Education on Monday, March 24. The deadline to register is March 12 (or earlier if the event reaches capacity). Recipients of awards administered throughout the year will be recognized, including the Summer Yearbook and Literary Magazine contest winners, Georgia Champion and Junior Champion Journalists, Behavioral Health Journalism Excellence, Achievement Award winners and Spring Broadcast, Newspaper, Newsmagazine and News Website contest winners. Willie Daniely III, a reporter at WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina, will give the keynote address.

Registration for the Summer Media Academy is now open. Choose from weeklong programs in Advertising and Public Relations, Broadcast News, Entertainment and Media Studies and Multimedia Journalism. Limited need-based scholarships are available, and those scholarship applications are due March 14.
