For their strong leadership and the active role they play in the Georgia Scholastic Press Association, seven scholastic media advisers are serving on the organization’s 2025 Advisory Council. Members include:

Pierce Bauer, adviser of The Spotlight newspaper at Druid Hills High School
Marc Ginsberg, adviser of Blueprints newsmagazine and news website, WJAG-TV, and the yearbook at Cedar Shoals High School
Colleen Johnson, adviser of Warrior News at J.C. Booth Middle School
Andrea Lyons, adviser of The Pitchfork newspaper and news website and Persephone literary magazine at Marietta High School
Ethan Pender, adviser of Jabberwokk yearbook, Darlingtonian Student News and Inkslinger literary magazine at Darlington School
Adam Throne, adviser of Echo literary magazine and The Oracle news website at North Springs High School
Shanon Woolf, adviser of The Trail news website and The Legend yearbook at McIntosh High School

The Advisory Council provides direction and advice for the organization from scholastic media advisers' perspectives. Council members have the opportunity to sit on committees such as Membership, Events, Awards and Communications.

Members on the Council serve a minimum of one calendar year but, at their choosing, are welcome to serve a total of two consecutive calendar years with the option to rejoin again in the future. Members of the Advisory Council represent a range of publication types from public and private schools around the state.
