GSPA assists high school and middle school media programs and students in the state of Georgia by encouraging their production of quality publications and broadcast programs through instruction and local competitions.

Events

Throughout the year, GSPA sponsors three main events: a statewide Conference, a Spring Workshop and Awards and the Summer Media Academy. An Advisers Workshop is also offered every other summer in early June.

Competitions

In addition to General Excellence contests, GSPA also administers many individual competitions. High school juniors and seniors can apply for the Junior Georgia Journalist of the Year and the Senior Journalist of the Year. Seniors who win the JOY award are entered into a national competition.

Publications

In order to enrich the experience of GSPA members, GSPA publishes an e-Bulletin with updates for members. The Winners’ Circle is produced annually and highlights the year's All-Georgia award winners in each category.
