As the Georgia Scholastic Press Association and member schools wrap up what has been a hectic year, a celebration video will honor the hard work of yearbook and literary magazine contest winners. The celebration, slated for Dec. 3 at 4 p.m., will feature General Excellence competition rankings and individual contest winners.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, yearbook and literary magazine contests traditionally held in the summer took place during the Fall semester. Staffs and advisers worked through the spring and summer to complete work against a range of challenges including remote work, publishing delays and budget cuts. GSPA gladly honors students and advisers who excelled in the face of adversity.

Professional judges with backgrounds in yearbook publishing, writing and journalism evaluated contest entries for overall quality, keeping the year’s challenges in mind.

Evaluation booklets and social media graphics will be emailed on Dec. 3 to advisers who submitted contest entries. Plaques and certificates will be mailed.
