Register now for the April 11 Spring Workshop and Awards

GSPA and its members from across the state will celebrate the best in scholastic journalism at the 2022 Spring Workshop and Awards. The event will be held at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education on Monday, April 11. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. A workshop will lead the event, 9-11:45 a.m., followed by an awards luncheon at noon, catered by the Georgia Center. Professional dress is suggested.

Recipients of awards administered throughout the year will be recognized, including the Summer Yearbook and Literary Magazine contest winners, Georgia Champion and Junior Champion Journalists, First Amendment Essay finalists, Achievement Award winners and Spring Broadcast, Newspaper, Newsmagazine and News Website contest winners. More program details will be available closer to the event, but you may view the program from 2019 as an example.

Registration will be open through 3 p.m. on April 4, or earlier if it reaches capacity (250). Attendance is free for advisers who have paid membership fees and $30 per student or other guest. The fee includes morning workshop sessions followed by a banquet-style catered meal. A final head count is required by the caterer one week prior to the event. Therefore, no cancellations or changes to the number of registrations will be allowed after 3 p.m. April 4, there will be no refunds for any reason, and the full amount owed will be due. GSPA will issue full refunds if an event is canceled by the organization. See the complete refund policy. There is a maximum of 250 attendees.
