Andrea Lyons, adviser for The Pitchfork and Persephone in Marietta, Georgia, has been selected as GSPA’s 2024 Adviser of the Year. The award recognizes a journalism teacher who goes beyond the “call of duty” in supporting his or her staff.

Read MoreMercer University's Center for Collaborative Journalism and the Georgia Scholastic Press Association will host a High School Journalism Advisers Workshop June 6-7 at the Center for Collaborative Journalism on Mercer's Macon campus. The workshop itself will be free to attend and will include sessions on topics such as introduction to audio, introduction to photo and video, writing and editing, and crafting story ideas.
